Timidity, The Most Difficult Behavior Problem to Fix

Dan the Man

Dan the golden retriever was so afraid of the world that his new adoptive owner could not even catch him. Dan would run into the back yard and hide. His exasperated owner didn't know what to do, and had decided to give him away. Dan was one of the most timid, fearful dogs I'd ever encountered. He cowered, drooled, and whimpered in fear over situations normal for most dogs. He was afraid of everything: dogs, people, riding in the car, even cats. His owner asked me to help Dan so he could find a new home. I agreed having no idea how tough this process would be, on him and me. It took some time, but Dan began to slowly feel more well-adjusted in different situations. He became well enough that he was able to return home and lead a fairly normal life.
