Its owner, dog trainer Jayme Feary, acquired Dogwood Lodge’s property and transformed it into a luxury boarding, daycare, and training resort retreat for your animal family members. The resort’s name, Woofers, serves as a tribute to Jayme’s grandfather, who gave animals nicknames according to the sounds they make. With open arms, deep experience, and care, Jayme welcomes all your “woofers" and "meowers."

Woofers Pet Resort owner Jayme Feary swapped the corporate world to live out his passion — working with animals. He earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and economics and a master's degree in fine arts, but he also has 35-plus years’ experience working with horses and dogs with an intuitive, spot-on sense of animal behavior. His expertise, dog leadership, and empathy underpin the Woofers Pet Resort experience.

At Woofers, we are a business with a purpose. We're tired of all the division and bitterness in our country. We want to, in our own small way, serve others and bring people together. We try to accomplish this by greeting our customers with genuine care and friendliness and by helping out when we see needs. Woofers gives 10% of its profits to our employees and another 10% to organizations we support such as animal shelters, spay/neuter programs, and adoption programs. More importantly, we regularly volunteer our time for community causes. All this not to toot our horn but to do what is right and good because we believe in people and our shared future.
